Food had a lot of choices, however, sometimes some of the same items each day that there ended up not being a huge variety of different things to try during our week stay. Surprised there wasn't more fruit options or fresh guacamole every day. However, food was good. Pizza was great at the pizza shack. Drinks were okay, but light on the alcohol. So if you wanted a stronger drink, ask for an extra shot of alcohol to mix in yourself. Marco Polo restaurant had great food. Panchos had 'just okay' Mexican Food. Were never able to get reservations to the Asian restaurant Zai. However, it always looked quite busy, so must be good. A variety of desserts, but lots of the same thing each day. Breakfast was great. Does anything beat Mexican oatmeal? Love that stuff. Hotel staff was great and did a nice job of taking care of guests. Nightly entertainment - went to a few of these. Very amateur shows, so don't expect high quality productions. Hard to get loungers around the pool, you have to 'reserve' these with your pool towel extremely early if you want a place to lounge later after breakfast. The typical annoyance of folks that 'reserve' their chair and don't show up to use it until mid-afternoon, so it sits unused most of the day. They definitely need more pool chairs for guests, or at least add more loungers to the beach area. The hotel and grounds were very well kept, everything was clean. Beds were comfortable and rooms were cleaned nicely each day by housekeeping staff. There are 2 categories here - guests, or members. We did attend a membership presentation, and while we enjoyed our stay, we rarely return to the same place twice, so declined becoming members. However, I spoke to several members who have been coming there for 10-15 years and seem to be very happy with the resort. The location is great. We did go to downtown San Jose during the Thursday evening Art Walk - this is a MUST DO when visiting.

I like the staff. Everyone was very polite and helpful. The restrooms were super clean. The restaurants were delicious with great service. My personal thanks to Alex from the buffet. I kindly asked him to do something for my wife and daughter's birthdays, and he and his coworkers were amazing. This was one of the best birthday surprises for my wife and the next day for my daughter. Again, the staff is amazing; there is almost no room for improvement. Oh yes, two more amazing waiters: David from Pancho's and Aaron from the buffet. Very nice people.

Breakfast at the buffet and dinner at the restaurants was pretty good for an all inclusive resort, and the shows were fun to watch. My kids had a blast, they really enjoyed the kids pool and the water slides, plus the nice ladies at the kids club. My partner loved the deli/coffee bar, they had great coffee and baked sweets for a mid afternoon snack. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable with a great AC. The location was great, with restaurants across the street if you wanted a break from the resort.

Joy

The resort was very clean and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The size of the resort was perfect as well. Not too big and not too small. Plenty of entertainment which kept my kids ages 4, 8, and 10 occupied all day long. My oldest enjoyed the beach volleyball games at 11am and 3pm daily. The waterpark was a big hit with my younger 2 kids. We also attended the show every evening and they were all fantastic.

Gretchen

We loved the flowers, palm trees, plants, the pool, the wonderful staff, the new deli and baked goods. The deli/coffee shop could use a larger coffee pot for people to get their own coffee to avoid back ups. We loved the sushi! We loved the restaurant reservation system on the app. It was nice that Cafe Solaris had late hours for a snack in the evening.
